Santa Spin 2022

From Little acorns…..
Like so many things in life, the RWCC Santa Spin began a few years ago with the simplest of ideas……. wouldn’t it be great if we could raise a few quid to buy bikes for kids who otherwise would have empty stockings on Christmas Morning?

In the years since then, the event has grown beyond our expectations and, on Saturday December 3rd, one hundred and ten cyclists representing 12 local clubs, rolled out for the 2022 RWCC Santa Spin.
Resplendent in their Santa Suits and bikes bedecked with holly….twinkling lights…… and even the occasional reindeer…..they ho ho ho’d their way along a route that took in Skryne, Dunsany, Batterstown, Dunboyne, and Kilbride before returning to Sweeney’s Centra Ratoath for complimentary Coffees and the finest Mince Pies for miles around.

In 2015 the Santa Spin provided bikes for three happy children. This year we are staggered to have raised over five thousand euro which the local conference of St Vincent de Paul will use to provide direct assistance to those in need in our local community. 

Huge praise and deep gratitude are due to the cycling community of South-East Meath for their generosity and camaraderie in making the RWCC Santa Spin such a resounding success!
